La mítica formación anglo-francesa Gong va a lanzar en septiembre 'Love From Planet Gong - The Virgin Years 1973-1975', una caja especial con 13 discos.
Se trata de una recopilación de sus discos de la etapa con el sello Virgin, concretamente de sus trabajos entre 1973 y 1975, la época de oro del rock progresivo británico. Se publicará el día 27 de septiembre.
Su título completo es 'Love From Planet Gong - The Virgin Years 1973-1975' y ha sido fruto del trabajo del guitarrista Steve Hillage con las mezclas del bajista Mike Howlett y remasterizado todo el material original de Virgin por el ingeniero de sonido Simon Heyworth, el original de Gong.
No se trata sólo de material clásico, sino que en gran parte hay nuevos repertorios con material inédito.
'Love From Planet Gong' es fruto de la implicación de los miembros originales de Gong con motivo de su 50º aniversario y la caja incluye el siguiente material: sus primeros 4 discos con Virgin, añadiendo bonus tracks, además de material inédito, conciertos completos de la banda, los sesiones completas con John Peel de la 'BBC' entre 1973 y 1974, mezclas nuevas con sonido 5.1 y trabajos inéditos gráficos de Daevid Allen.
